Weapons of Mass Deception

Powell, Schecter and BushOn the 33rd anniversary of the Watergate break-in, join us on June 17 for a screening of this award-winning documentary film followed by "How Our Media Undermines Democracy," a discussion with and reception for director Danny Schechter.

There were two wars going on in Iraq - one was fought with armies of soldiers, bombs and a fearsome military force. The other was fought alongside it with cameras, satellites, armies of journalists and propaganda techniques. One war was rationalized as an effort to find and disarm WMDs - Weapons of Mass Destruction; the other was carried out by even more powerful WMDs, Weapons of Mass Deception. Narrated by Academy Award winner Tim Robbins. Produced by Globalvision. Directed by Danny Schechter, former CNN producer and Emmy Award-winning ABC 20/20 producer.
