"Health Care: Basic Human Right or Privilege?"

A public forum on universal health care
with keynote speakers Dr. Stephanie Woolhandler, a Harvard associate professor of medicine and cofounder of Physicians for a National Health Program, and UNITE HERE Hospitality Industry President John Wilhelm.
This program examined the viability of establishing a universal health care system in states like Connecticut, or nationally through a federal structure.

If you don't know these facts about our health care system or know of others who don't ...

    • The United States is the only industrialized nation without universal health care.
    • The World Health Organization ranks the U.S. healthcare system at #37, behind all of Europe, Canada and Japan.
    • Over 360,000 Connecticut residents and 47 million citizens in the United States have no health insurance.
    • The inability to pay medical bills is the leading cause of personal bankruptcy in the U.S., according to a Harvard study
... then you need to get educated. Get talking. And get active.
